The Wild

A few years back, I saw a movie trailer for "Everything Is Illuminated". I was taken by the trailer, and was immediatly excited to see the film. I did a little searching and found out that it was actually from a novel of the same name. I decided I couldn't wait for the film to be released, and went and bought the book. I'll include right here, that I buy very few books. It seems that the library or borrowing books from friends keeps me as well-read as I want to be. No one else had this book, so a quick trip to the bookstore gave me the chance to "see" the movie before it showed. I was very pleasantly surprised, and in fact found another author I look forward to reading any time - Jonathan Safran Foer

Well, it's happened again. I saw a trailer for "Into the Wild", and it immediatly looked like the type of film that would intrigue me. I went out and bought the book based on the trailer alone. I was again more than pleasantly surprised. The subject of the true life story is of a young man, abandoning all (pretty much literally; he gave away $24,000 after graduating college) and living life on the road, on the way to Alaska. A lot of this story is assumed and gathered from folks who knew him during wis wanderings. But it all makes sense, and his journals bring out a desire in myself to do this same type of thing. I shant get into here how I could easily see myself doing this same thing if I were to but get a taste of it somehow.

Anyways, you should give this book a read or at least go see the film when it opens this fall.

I was at this music festival in July wondering around rather sleep deprived when I came upon a group of of people promoting this movie. They were handing out carabineers that had "Into the Wild" printed on them. I thought to myself about how next year I should become a promoter for some movie or movement etc and get into festivals for free.

Also I can't wait for this movie. It has Zach in it.
